Anya Chalotra was born on 21 July 1996, in Wolverhampton, England to Indian father Madan Chalotra and British mother April Chalotra. She is a British actress. She has spent her childhood in the village of Lower Penn, in South Staffordshire. Along with her parents and her siblings, Arun and Reeya. She went to St, Dominic’s Grammar School in Brewood and attended the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Career
Anya began her career as a theatre artist in London. She has worked in several theatre productions, such as Expectations, Balm in Gilead, The Same Water as Me, Merchant of Venice and many more. Her performance in the play The Village deserves a special mention.
She made her debut with a television series, Wanderlust, in 2018. Later, she played the character of Lily Marbury, in the ABC Murders mini-series. But, she came to the limelight after her stunning performance in the 2019 Netflix series, The Witcher, as Yennefer of Vengerberg, opposite Henry Cavill, which is an adaptation of a book series of the same name. She continued playing the same role in the other seasons. She also gave voice to the character of Robin Loxley in the 2019 animated TV series, Sherwood.
Other than an actor, she is also a skilled tap dancer and ballet dancer.
